South Africa’s Blind Tiger Gin wins International Gold not once, but twice!

By Whisky Live Staff 01-11-2017

Blind Tiger Small Batch Crafted Gin is produced in the tropical, exotic climate of Kwa-Zulu Natal, but the gin takes its inspiration from around the world. At 46% Alcohol by Volume (ABV), and along with its higher than usual root botanical infusion, Blind Tiger Gin offers an exciting, one-of-a-kind drinking experience.

It has a fresh nose with a medley of angelica root and coriander, which allows for the soft nuance of juniper berries in the background. On the palate, the gin is smooth, full-bodied with an ever so slight sweetness, leading to a fresh and vibrant citrus finish provided by hints of lemongrass and passionflower.

Blind Tiger bucks the South African craft gin trend by being more international in both its botanical profile and masculine design. The gin received the first of its two gold medals of 2017 in June at the International SIP Awards– the largest blind-tasting competition to date, with 673 spirit brands competing and 118 consumer judges.

The Spirit Business hosted The Gin Masters in London, in a drive to find and reward the finest brands on the world stage. Blind Tiger once again won Gold, confirming the brand’s place among the best craft gins in the world.

Blind Tiger Gin’s Keegan Cook said, “We are very pleased to have won gold medals at the SIP Awards and The Gin Masters this year. Everything about the Blind Tiger brand has been carefully and meticulously crafted and it is great to be recognised on an international stage.”

Book your tickets here to taste Blind Tiger at Whisky & Spirits Live, on at the Sandton Convention Centre from 8 - 10 November.
