Whisky and Spirits Live opens its doors from 17h00 for access to the non-whisky stands that complement the whisky lifestyle... Why not beat the crowds and the traffic, get something to eat and browse the range of luxurious gifts and products that complement the whisky lifestyle before the tasting hall opens at 18h00? Read on to hear what's on offer.
The best things come in Glass
Aside from that beautiful glass bottle of water you receive at the entrance to Whisky & Spirits Live, Consol has, as always, taken it a step further by collaborating with the team from Whisky & Spirits Live to bring you tailored kegtails in glass jars. No, that's not a typo - "kegtails" are handcrafted, pre-mixed cocktails made by expert mixologists using the freshest, premium ingredients, served at the tug of a tap. So how does this tie in with Consol? Consol is offering visitors the opportunity to personalise their kegtails, by choosing their own vessel, colour and garnish.
We have to agree with them: reliable as it is versatile, glass is the best to use to quench your thirst for the sublime!
Visit the Consol stand to experience it yourself and remember to complete your glass journey by capturing your memory at their social wall and tagging them on Twitter @ConsolGlass.
You won't believe that NOVA Chocolates are sugar-free - they taste heavenly!
There will be an impressive selection of all things chocolate at their stand, including chocolate slabs (plain dark chocolate, roasted cacao, espresso and peanut butter); c hocolate balsamic reductions available in plain chocolate, choc chili, red wine and lemongrass variants; hot chocolate; "Smudge" chocolate spread (plain or hazelnut) and especially for Whisky & Spirits Live, chocolate, whisky and salted toffee bon-bons. Yum!
Chocolatier (and confirmed whisky-lover), chef Dylan Jonsson, will also be at the stand to ensure that you get the most from your chocolate-tasting experience.
1701 Chocolate Nougat
We are delighted to welcome 1701 back to Whisky & Spirits Live again this year. We have to admit to 'sampling' a little more than might have been polite (and we can't promise we will be any better behaved this year) as this is some seriously good nougat.
The 1701 brand was established in April 2015. Their confections are hand-cut, hand-packed and hand-crafted. Their divine Honey Nougat makes amazing gifts and we're fortunate that their luxury gift collections will be on sale at Whisky & Spirits Live.
We're all about flavour! Experience Twisp’s flavours including Cherry, Tobacco, Polar Mint and Rebel. There will be 3 variants for Cue Pods available - including Tobacco#1, Rebel and Polar Mint - as well as a range of high powered devices. For more information click here.
The folks at Twisp have also sent us some information on their Whisky & Spirits Live specials: a Cue Starter Pack plus Cue Battery will cost R599.95; if you buy 10 Cue Pods, you'll only pay for 9; and visitors will get R400 off on Vega Starter Packs (R999.95), R250 off on Aero X Starter Packs (R849.95) and R100 off on Ion Starter Packs (R799.95).
