Diageo’s Reserve Portfolio will be launching the globally-celebrated World Class Cocktail Week in South Africa to run the week of Whisky & Spirits Live. World Class Cocktail week, which will take place on 6 – 11 November offers a variety of curated experiences that celebrate the craft of bartending. It aims to provide consumers with amazing quality cocktails, while delivering a luxury consumption experience.
Championing the launch experience will be Diageo’s global brand ambassador, Donald Colville who graces our shores to host the World Class Mixology Session at Whisky & Spirits Live. He will be taking visitors through a master class called ‘Cocktails DIY’. Consumers who want to elevate their own private ‘get togethers’ will benefit from these sessions, where they will learn how to host a canape and cocktail evening using some of the best premium spirits in the market including Ketel One Vodka, Don Julio Tequila, Bulleit Bourbon, Cardhu Single Malt Whisky, Ron Zacapa rum and Tanqueray no. 10 Gin to create unforgettable cocktails.
Diageo Reserve, renowned for delivering luxury brand experiences locally and abroad, has partnered with 8 top venues across Johannesburg to offer food pairings to elevate the drinking experience. These venues include exclusive hotels Da Vinci and The Maslow Hotel as well as top Johannesburg restaurants; Gemelli, Marble, The Landmark, Milk & Honey, and Social Kitchen. These leading venues will participate in the World Class Cocktail Week where cocktail enthusiasts will learn and experience the art of cocktail making like never before.
World Class Cocktail Week will also see a range of well-known bartenders - including South Africa’s top Bartender, Julian Short - showcasing their skills, creativity and charisma behind the bar. Whisky & Spirits Live visitors are urged to visit the World Class House at this year’s festival for an unparralled cocktail experience.
